FCRA Notice

Fair Credit Reporting Act Notice · Mintploy, Inc.

Important: 9ONE0 is NOT a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq., and the information available through 9ONE0 may not be used as a “consumer report.”

What this means

You may not use 9ONE0, or anything you learn from it, to decide whether a person is eligible for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or any other purpose the FCRA covers. Using public record data for these purposes without following the FCRA, including its required disclosures and adverse action notices, is illegal.

9ONE0 is for personal safety only

9ONE0 is made only for personal use: looking up public records about someone you plan to date or meet, for your own safety and peace of mind. We do not offer 9ONE0 for any purpose the FCRA regulates.

Prohibited uses

The following uses of 9ONE0 are prohibited and break our Terms of Service and the law: (1) screening job applicants or employees, or any other hiring decision; (2) tenant screening for rental housing decisions; (3) creditworthiness determinations; (4) insurance eligibility decisions; (5) any other use that would require FCRA compliance.

Provided as is, with no guarantee of accuracy

The information available through 9ONE0 comes from publicly available sources and third-party data providers, none of which is a consumer reporting agency, and is provided as is. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any data. Public records are frequently incomplete or contain errors. Records are searched by name, so a record may belong to someone else, and a charge or arrest is not a conviction. Check any record with the court that holds it, and do not make important personal, financial or legal decisions based only on a 9ONE0 report.

Dispute resolution

Because 9ONE0 is not a consumer reporting agency, we are not obligated to follow FCRA dispute procedures. If you believe information about you in a public record is inaccurate, you must contact the originating source (the county recorder, court system, or other government body) to seek correction. If you would rather not appear in 9ONE0 at all, you can opt out at 9one0.com/opt-out: once confirmed by email, you are left off our pick lists and no report is built on you.

Questions

If you have questions about appropriate use of 9ONE0, contact us at info@9one0.com. If what you need is covered by the FCRA, do not use 9ONE0 for it. Use a consumer reporting agency that follows the FCRA instead.
