What we aim for

9ONE0 aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, on every page, for everyone who uses it. We check new pages against those guidelines before they go out, and we fix what we find.

What works

Every part of 9ONE0 can be used without a mouse, and every page is built to be read aloud.

  • Keyboard: every link, button and box can be reached with Tab and used with Enter or Space. Focus is always visible. A skip link at the top of each page jumps past the menu.
  • Screen readers: pages have one main heading, labelled form fields, named buttons and images with a description. What changes on a page (a report arriving, a code sent, a saved note) is announced.
  • Zoom and text size: text can be made larger in your browser, and pages reflow to fit rather than scroll sideways.
  • Reduced motion: when your device asks for less motion, 9ONE0 drops its animations.
  • Quick exit: the Leave 9ONE0 button, or pressing Shift three times in a row, closes 9ONE0 at once and opens a different website in its place. For the next 10 minutes, pressing Back will not bring 9ONE0 up again. The button is on every signed-in page and in the menu.

Known limitations

None at the moment. When we find one we cannot fix straight away, it is listed here with what to do instead.

Tell us when something does not work

If any part of 9ONE0 is hard to use with a keyboard, a screen reader, a magnifier or anything else, email info@9one0.com with "Accessibility" in the subject. Say which page and what happened, and which browser and assistive technology you were using if you know. We answer every report within five business days.
